| Preface In 1998, the Danish Securities
Council continued its work on laying down the fundamental framework of the Danish
securities market, considering, among other things, changed rules as a result of the
Danish-Swedish stock exchange cooperation. In addition, the Council was involved in
various specific matters as described in this report.
The Danish Securities Council also continued its discussions of
transparency and other fundamental principles on the securities market in 1998, and a
renewed issue of the executive orders issued by the Council in 1996 was started. Moreover,
a working group was set up under the auspices of the Council, with the object of
considering the need for an executive order on good securities trading practices.
Thus, the Danish Securities Council will continue to work for an
adequate and smooth development on the securities market, particularly in the light of the
Nordic stock exchange cooperation and developments at the European level.
