The mission of the Danish FSA describes the two main tasks, as we see them, in the light of the changed reality created by the crisis for the financial undertakings and their customers:

Financial stability

The Danish FSA contributes to financial stability by:

• Counteracting that financial undertakings get into financial difficulties
• Assessing the viability of the business models of financial undertaking
• Including the systemic perspective in our supervisory work

Confidence in undertakings and markets

The second primary task of the Danish FSA is to inspire confidence in financial undertakings and the financial markets.

Our work to inspire confidence is based on:

• Transparency of undertakings and markets
• Fair treatment of investors and consumers
• Responsible behaviour by undertakings
• Firm and prompt action in relation to those who breach the law
• Transparency in supervisory activities
