In the financial area, there is a close cooperation between the Permanent Representation of Denmark in Brussels, the Ministry of Business and Growth, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Interior and the Danish FSA. The chairmanships are mainly held by the Permanent Representation.

The 3 steps of the procedure:

  • Not published
    The process starts formally when the European Commission publishes a proposal for a regulation or a directive
  • Council
    A proposal for a regulation or a directive which is negotiated at technical level in a council working group composed of all the member states in the EU. The proposal is negotiated at minister level at ECOFIN.
  • Trialogues
    The negotiations between the Council and the European Parliament to reach an agreement on a proposal. The Commission is the third party of the trialogues.
