Supervision is done by regular monitoring and on-site inspections of the undertakings. Supervisory activities focus on whether undertakings hold sufficient capital against the risks assumed by the undertakings, and whether undertakings have an effective system of governance. Supervisory activities also include ensuring that costumers receive a fair share of the profits which they have contributed to generate.
The Division is responsible for authorisation of internal models for life insurance companies and pensions funds.
The Division is responsible for regulation in the pension area, including the Supervision of Company Pensions Act, the Equal Opportunities Act, provisions on management and investments in the Arbejdsmarkedets Tillægspension Act, in the LD Pensions Act and the Workers' Compensation Act. In addition, the Division is responsible for the underlying executive orders and guidelines.
