Warning against FINTRON ASSET MANAGEMENT A.G.

Public warning

Following the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HCMC)’s public warning dated 26.01.2010 relating to “CAPITAL INVESTORS ASSET MANAGEMENT A.G.” and “CAPITAL INVESTORS S.A”, the HCMC informs investors for the following:


Switzerland based “FINTRON ASSET MANAGEMENT A.G.” which operates in Greece, appears to be the successor of “CAPITAL INVESTORS ASSET MANAGEMENT A.G.” to whom the Hellenic Capital Market Commission decided on 08.07.2010 to impose a fine of  €100,000, on the ground that said company provided the investment service of portfolio management without the necessary authorization by the HCMC, thus contravening the provisions of article 8 para 1 of Law 3606/2007.


To this end, “FINTRON ASSET MANAGEMENT A.G.” as well as its executives, Mr. Christos Athanasiadis, Mr. Georgios Tsilichristos, Mr. Constantinos Politis, and Mr. Lykourgos Papagianopoulos are not authorized to provide investment services in Greece related to financial instruments as those provided in article 5 of Law 3606/2007, as well as to safekeeping investors funds.


It is noted that according to article 8 of Law 3606/2007, providing investment services without the prior authorization from the competent authorities is not permitted and constitutes a criminal offence, which is subject to criminal and administrative sanctions.
